Z is for Zadie
White Teeth by Zadie Smith
I am very proud and a little sad that my book alphabet has finally come to an end. I also successfully managed to get all of my favourite books in which are: Anne Frank's Diary, The Ballad of The Whiskey Robber, The Lover's Dictionary, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Yes Man and finally today White Teeth. (A link to my ever growing list of favourite books can be found here on goodreads)
I read this book in 2014 and loved it, I paced myself reading the first half and by the time I hit the middle I was so desperate to know what happens I breezed through the remaining half of the book in one night. This is a story across multiple generations from multiple perspectives and I love those sorts of books. I also really love Zadie Smith, I think she writes really well and all of her characters have such depth. This book is set in London and Zadie writes a complex and diverse London, very reflective of real life.
